ISS Finder App Reviews

Awesome!

Just watched the space station pass over Hawaii a few minutes ago...so cool.

Still seeing ads

Wonderful app with a lot of information!

Quirky, odd behavior, forgets location, location services broken

Lots of good things, but major irritants. It acquires our location, but doesnt learn it! So, it repeatedly nags us to turn on Location Services on every launch! It should learn a users location and let that be the default--without ever needing to turn on LS again! That is how most astro apps do this! The ads are discrete, but still a nuisance. AFAIR, they werent there before and its distracting and a waste of screen space. Adverts are tawdry! An occasional, gentle reminder asking people to upgrade or buy would be much classier. Whenever one brings up a pass, the direction wrongly shows North! That defeats is purpose. PREVIOUS REVIEW (renumbered) 1. Weirdly, half the screen on an iPad shows a list of Not Visible passes! Not sure what thats for, but you cant turn it off and its a waste of screen real estate. 2. Sending away a pass window requires tapping an X in the corner-- it ought to go away when one taps anywhere. 3. The recalibrate compass (the biz where one has to rotate the I-device slowly in a circle tilting it) keeps coming up--even though we have no need for it! And, it takes time to calibrate. 4. Too many labels are on the map and the lettering has poor aesthetics. PLUSSES In the plus column, it shows the ISS against a map of the globe, lists current expedition members with photos of them, and includes a large gallery of Earth photos taken by the astronauts (theyre beautiful, and each has a brief caption once you tap on it and open it up). BOTTOM LINE For now, the app has been moved to the back of the launch pad. :-) Hope these things get fixed soon. In the interim, Sputnik!, Iridium Flares, and Satellite Safari are better options.

Awesome and so easy to use

The most fun app I have

This is the one!

If youre looking for an app to monitor the ISS, this has everything you need. It uses your current location and sets alarms for every visible pass for the next ten days. (Or you can manually set your location.) Easy to set time parameters on alarms (so it doesnt wake you at 3:00am). And it gives you a rating on the overall visibility of each pass. The map is also a great feature with "map" or "satellite" view options. My only complaint is that it does not show a day/night shadow.

Awesome App!!

Very interesting and useful.

A must get!

I show people the ISS and theyre amazed it can be seen with the naked eye!

Love this app!

Very cool to get the alarm that a sighting is 5 min away!

Great app - but update crew please

Very accurate and precise. I love to go out and moon the ISS - I want to know the updated crew that Im mooning...

Awesome!

Perfect app for tracking the ISS. Hasnt failed me yet, this coupled with another satellite tracking app had enabled me to catch it several times!!

Love it

I use it all the time all across the country and it is always dependable and accurate

Needs love

Update the crew Alarms are not reliable Restoring purchases doesnt work

I love this app!

Its addictive to check it several times a day and see when itll pass over my state :) I only wish the app told us how high the ISS is flying. I dont believe its mentioned anywhere.

Suggestion

I suggest you have the map show where its dark and where its light out on earth.

Best ISS app around

Fun, easy, accurate, and informative.

ISS

This app is awesome! I use it every night.

The best app Ive seen yet.

Not too many people understand the meaning of that interesting speck of light making its way through the sky so fast. It is amazing that for once, one could experience the full gratification of understanding the meaning of that one speck of light. Definitely download this app, as it will change your personal opinion on what humanity could do.
